Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-06-17
These terms are the agreement between you and Hopper Limited ("we", "us") for your use of kura, the content editor for AI-built websites at kuracms.com. kura is a brand operated by Hopper Limited. By creating an account or using kura you agree to these terms.
What kura is
kura is a hosted content editor. You define a content schema, your editors fill in the content, and your website reads that content through a REST API. That is the whole service. kura is not your visitors' login system, a page builder, or an e-commerce backend, and we don't promise those features.
Your account
You need an account to use kura. You're responsible for what happens under your account and for the editors you invite. Give us accurate information and keep your sign-in details secure. You must be at least 16 to use kura.
What you can do, and what you can't
You may use kura to manage content for any lawful website. You may not:
- use kura to store or serve unlawful content, or content you don't have the right to publish;
- abuse the service in a way that degrades it for others (for example, trying to overwhelm the API);
- attempt to access another customer's project or data;
- resell kura as your own service without our agreement.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
Your content is yours
You keep all rights to the content you and your editors put into kura. We don't claim ownership of it. You grant us only the permission we need to store, process, and serve that content so the service works - nothing more. You can export all of your content as JSON at any time, and you can delete your project whenever you like.
Pricing and payment
kura costs $6 per site per month, or $60 per site per year (two months free). One price per site, with unlimited editor accounts - there is no per-editor charge.
- First month free. You add a card to start a project. You are not charged during the first month, and if you cancel inside that month you pay nothing.
- After the free month, the subscription renews automatically each period until you cancel.
- Prices are in US dollars and exclude any taxes that may apply.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't see or store your card details.
Cancelling, and what happens to your data
You can cancel any time from your project settings. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
If a payment fails, we pause your project rather than delete it: the admin and API stop serving until payment succeeds, but your content is kept so you can pick up where you left off. We'll delete a long-dormant unpaid project only after giving you notice and a chance to export.
Fair use
kura's flat per-site price assumes ordinary small-business traffic, and the vast majority of sites never come near a limit - there's no usage meter and no overage bill. Very rarely, a site's traffic is high enough that serving it costs us materially more than the subscription. If that happens, we may get in touch to agree a fair arrangement, such as a custom plan, or - as a last resort - rate-limit requests to keep the service healthy for everyone. We'll always contact you first; we won't spring a surprise charge on you.
Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep kura available but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. kura is pre-release and evolving; we may add, change, or remove features. We'll give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce what you're paying for.
The open-source code
kura's source code is published under the MIT licence on GitHub. That licence covers the code. It is not a promise to run the hosted service forever, and it doesn't include self-hosting support. These terms govern the hosted service you're paying for. If we ever stop running the hosted service, you can export your data and you have the code.
No warranty
kura is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We don't warrant that it will be error-free or meet every need. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data or profits. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for kura in the twelve months before the claim. Keep your own backups - the JSON export exists for exactly this.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and the New Zealand courts have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights in your own country.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest version, and we'll email account owners about significant changes. Continuing to use kura after a change means you accept the updated terms.
